What do you get when you combine a generous donor and enthusiastic makers during a public health crisis?
You get a pop of good news to brighten your day.
Last week, Treasure Coast Closing Services made a generous donation to benefit the hard-working staff at the Cleveland Clinic.
But they didn't just write a check. Instead, they graciously invited other local businesses to help turn that money into meals. TCCS contacted an up-and-coming Vero Beach restaurant, River Twist Food and Wine, and asked them to do what they do best - cook up some fabulous food - and have that delivered to the Cleveland Clinic.
River Twist offers a little something for everyone. Usually open for lunch and dinner, these days they have successfully pivoted to a dinner take-out menu (wine included) Tuesdays through Saturdays, 4-7pm.
Garden of Esther was honored to be asked to participate by contributing our fresh pasta. This is the garlic basil rigatoni we sent over to River Twist:
And Chef Michael worked his magic to create these delicious to-go meals:
If that's not heart-warming comfort food, I don't know what is.
It's a scary time in the world right now. But in the words of Mr. Rogers: "Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping."
Garden of Esther is proud to have worked alongside River Twist as one of the helpers this week, and proud to see our local businesses contributing to our community in this way. Our hat goes off to Treasure Coast Closing Services for putting this in motion; you can swing by to say thanks to them at their offices on 18th Avenue in Vero Beach. And we are grateful to River Twist Food and Wine for letting us be a part of this - you can find their menu and phone number below.
Inspired to find more ways to continue contributing, we've got some new and exciting plans in the works. We're still hashing out the details, so stay tuned, but we're hoping to do even more to be among the Vero Beach helpers.
